On September 20, 2025, the banks of the Essil River in Astana came alive with energy and purpose as more than 400 people gathered to take part in a large-scale cleanup. The event was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan in partnership with the Embassy of Estonia in Astana, supported by the Akimat of Astana. It formed part of World Cleanup Day, the #EUBeachCleanup campaign, and Kazakhstan’s national initiative “Taza Qazaqstan.”
