"Iftar Talks" bring EU youth networks and the EU Delegation together in Amman

Members of the EU Jeel Connect and Media Connect networks joined EU Ambassador Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas and representatives of the European Union for the first edition of Iftar Talks in Amman—a youth-led initiative fostering cultural exchange and open dialogue.

The event brought together 38 young participants for an evening that combined heritage, reflection, and discussion. The programme began with a guided visit to Tiraz: Widad Kawar Home for Arab Dress, a unique cultural space dedicated to preserving and showcasing traditional attire from Jordan, Palestine, and across the Arab region.

Following the visit, participants gathered for iftar, creating a warm and informal setting for conversation. The discussion featured the Ambassador, EU Delegation representatives, and members of both youth networks, focusing on youth engagement, intercultural understanding, and the evolving partnership between Jordan and the European Union.

Participants also explored how initiatives such as EU Jeel Connect and Media Connect can serve as dynamic platforms to strengthen communication, collaboration, and mutual understanding between young people and the EU.

Blending the cultural richness of Tiraz with the spirit of Ramadan, the event created a welcoming space for meaningful exchange—highlighting the important role of youth in shaping stronger, more connected Euro-Jordanian relations.
