23/02/2017 - 14:21
As a guest of honour, Minister Al Kaabi talked about the history of the UAE, underlining that investment in human capital and promotion of education and the business sector have always been a cornerstone in the development of the country.
Her Excellency, Minister Noura Al Kaabi, stressed the importance of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, which was established in 2007 to create sustainable development. She highlighted the youth empowerment encouraged by the UAE government through organizing youth circles/discussions around the UAE. She noted that the National Arab Youth Strategy launched during the World Government Summit in Dubai in February 2017 aims to engage the youth to tackle the current challenges. She added that it is of utmost importance to involve the youth in the decision making process as there are 75 million Arab youth who are jobless today and that these youth could turn to more extremist ideas if the situation does not improve. She stressed that new government positions announced last year (Ministers of State for Youth, Tolerance and Happiness) aim to foster prosperity and wellbeing of the society as well as to tackle the ongoing challenges around the world.
A Q&A session followed the Minister's presentation.
