‘’Comics for Humanity’’ - 4th edition of Comics Week held in Jordan
The event, which has become a staple of the Jordanian cultural agenda since its inception in 2020, featured artworks by 5 European and 15 Jordanian comic artists. The works of students from 4 Jordanian schools, aged 14-16, reflecting humanity through comics, was also showcased. Workshops with Jordanian and European artists were organised alongside the event, providing visitors and comics’ fans with an opportunity to appreciate original artworks, published comic books, as well as interact with some of the featured artists.
On 20 May, during the opening ceremony, the EU Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, highlighted the unique power of visual arts in storytelling, raising awareness, and supporting intercultural dialogue. He emphasised that the event is a tribute to the victims of war and a reminder of the primacy of human rights and international law.
