This Job is only open to applicants who are citizens having one of the nationalities of the European Union. Please note that this post is financed under the EU Trust Fund for Africa and limited in time (no indefinite contract can be granted). The end date of the post is expected to be 31 December 2025 (initial contract and one possible renewal where appropriate), subject to budget availability.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Team Leader and the Head of Cooperation, and in close collaboration with colleagues from the political section:

  • monitor the delivery of the financial assistance provided to Cameroon within the framework of the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa;
  • manage development assistance projects/programs in the areas of migration management and forced displacement (including reintegration and social inclusion aspects);
  • conflict prevention and/or peacebuilding in a context of decentralisation;
  • peace, security and stabilisation;
  • related governance issues in Cameroon, as well as in the Central Africa sub-region when relevant; contribute to the programming, identification/formulation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of EU assistance in above areas, while ensuring a rights-based and gender-sensitive approach; contribute to the political and policy dialogue with national authorities and other stakeholders in the above-mentioned fields, and provide sector monitoring, policy analysis, and assessment of structural reforms;
  • contribute to the monitoring of regional migration and security issues in Central Africa (eg. Lake Chad Basin, Gulf of Guinea, RCA crisis, NWSW crisis), while providing dedicated analysis for Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea from a national perspective;
  • ensure sector coordination with EU Member States and other donors, national counterparts, civil society organisations and other relevant stakeholders;
  • if necessary, assist the team leader and the Delegation management in general in ensuring the good functioning, business continuity and coordination of the team.
