Non-resident EU Ambassador Denis Chaibi presents his credentials to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam

On 17 May 2025, the non-resident Head of the EU Delegation to Brunei Darussalam, Ambassador Denis Chaibi, presented his credentials to His Majesty Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held at the Nurul Iman Palace, located just outside the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Ambassador Chaibi conveyed the greetings of European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He also reaffirmed EU’s commitment to strengthening relations with Brunei in areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, higher education and research, environmental protection, climate action and sustainable growth.
