EHEF is coming soon, showcasing over 100 institutions
European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) is coming soon
To showcase over 100 institutions from 15 EU Member States, EU and Indonesia
Jakarta, 28 October 2025 - The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Indonesia will host the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF), an annual exhibition highlighting higher education opportunities in Europe. This year’s EHEF will take place at Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas (GIK) Yogyakarta on 6 November 2025 for its 6th edition, and at Catur Dharma Hall, Menara Astra, Jakarta on 8-9 November 2025 for its 17th edition.
During the event, visitors will have the chance to meet representatives from over 100 European higher educational institutions as well as from Indonesia’s Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) and Beasiswa Garuda. Attendees can explore a wide range of study programmes and scholarship opportunities available across Europe.
"The EU Delegation to Indonesia is proud to have hosted the EHEF since 2008. The EHEF demonstrates Team Europe's commitment to supporting Indonesian students to pursue their wishes to study in Europe and higher education institutions to establish partnerships with European higher education institutions," said H.E. Denis Chaibi, EU Ambassador to Indonesia.
"Higher education plays a pivotal role in the EU's Global Gateway strategy, fostering innovation, skills development, and cross-cultural understanding that drive sustainable growth and digital transformation worldwide. By investing in educational partnerships and opportunities, the EU is committed to empowering the next generation of global leaders and contributing to a more connected, prosperous, and resilient future," Ambassador Chaibi added.
EHEF is an important platform for students, parents, and young professionals to learn about the diverse range of higher education and research options in Europe. This year, EHEF will host more than 80 higher education institutions in Yogyakarta and 100 in Jakarta. Exhibitors will come from Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, and Sweden, as well as the EU Delegation and Indonesia, represented by LPDP and Beasiswa Garuda.
Participating institutions will provide first-hand information on education systems, university profiles, study programmes, scholarship opportunities, application procedures, and tips on preparing for independent living and socio-cultural adaptation for Indonesian students.
Each year, the EU and its Member States award over 1,000 scholarships to Indonesian students and academics to study in Europe, through the Erasmus+ programmes and various national scholarship schemes. In total, more than 4,000 students and scholars depart for Europe annually – both self-funded and scholarship recipients.
In addition to the main exhibition, EHEF Indonesia 2025 will also feature presentations from each EU Member State and classroom sessions (specifically in Yogyakarta) that will explain the strengths of each participating higher education institution, various tips for successful study, and include discussions on sustainability and green technology innovation.
During the EHEF, the EU will officially launch the “1,000 Green Engineering" website which aims to provide curated information on green engineering programmes, vocational trainings, and courses offered by universities and higher education institutions in EU Member States, along with available scholarship opportunities. This initiative supports Indonesia's future drivers of change in exploring the vast green engineering education landscape across EU Member States. Through this initiative, Indonesian students and researchers are expected to be able to develop innovative solutions to global challenges such as climate change, natural resource management, and the circular economy, in line with a shared commitment to a green and sustainable future.
