Climate Resilient and Inclusive Cities (CRIC)

 

Overall Objective

To propose a long lasting and unique cooperation between cities and research centres in Europe and Indonesia (and beyond), and to contribute substantially to sustainable integrated urban development, good governance, and climate adaptation/ mitigation through long lasting partnerships, and tools such as sustainable local action plans, early warning tools and experts panels.

Key Outputs

  • Pillar 1: Knowledge production and exchange

    • 1.1. Capitalisation of knowledge and tools on Inclusive and Climate resilient cities

    • 1.2. Elaboration of indicators, and recommendations on SDG 11, SDG 13 and also SDG 6 

    • 1.3. Organisation of panels of experts involving local governments and researchers to strengthen policy dialogue on urban policies and urban challenges 

    • 1.4. Definition of tools for decision makers, and practitioners. The tools will be innovative, unique and address the areas of climate change/adaptation, early warnings, and sustainable use of resources, water and sanitation. 

  • Pillar 2: Local action plans for climate resilient and inclusive cities 

    • 2.1. Development of sustainable local action plans on 4 primary thematic areas: the threats of climate change/ climate adaptation and early warnings, Sustainable use of resources: best practices, Inclusiveness and marginalisation, water and sanitation. This seminar series will take place in different cities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, India, and Nepal. 

    • 2.2. Development of early warning systems, mapping of CO2 emissions. 

    • 2.3. Action plans for water, sanitation, air pollution and sustainable use of resources
