Art Talks: EU & ARTSUBS

On 14 May 2025, the EU Ambassador hosted an evening of discussion between EU Member States cultural counsellors and the organisers of ARTSUBS. The evening provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, discuss the evolving role of contemporary art in society, and explore opportunities for deeper cultural exchange and joint initiatives.

ARTSUBS is the country’s largest contemporary art exhibition, showcasing a diverse collection of artworks by artists from across Indonesia. Held in Surabaya, Indonesia’s second-largest city, ARTSUBS brings together artists, curators, collectors, designers, architects, and art practitioners, along with the wider public.

Last year’s ARTSUBS featured 154 artists presenting over 200 artworks across an exhibition space of 3,900 square meters. This year, ARTSUBS will take place from 2 August to 7 September 2025.
