This time, the Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation offers a programme of 8 films from several EU member states – Denmark, France, Italy, and the UK. One of the programme's highlights, the Italian documentary "Soyalism", will be presented by film director Enrico Parenti. Following the industrial production chain of pork, from China to Brazil through the United States and Mozambique, "Soyalism" describes the enormous concentration of power in the hands of a few Western and Chinese companies. It also raises our awareness of the impact that the livestock farming and soybean production have on the ecology. This film won 7 prizes for best documentary at international festivals, including Krakow International Green Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
A side programme of the Festival will feature several lectures, round tables and discussions under the general theme “Global climate change: Is Greta Thunberg right?” in Moscow on 23 and 24 November. Young climate scientists, meteorologists, hydrologists, biologists and economists will explain the essence of future changes. Refusal of investments as a way to save the planet, waste recycling, circular economy and climate change will be the subjects of discussions and round tables with experts from Finland, Sweden and Germany. Open lectures by experts are also foreseen in Saint Petersburg.
