"EUforia" Competition winners announced
Young writers increase EU content on Wikipedia Indonesia
Most people today turn to the internet for general information and Wikipedia is one of the primary sources. The Delegation of the European Union (EU) and Wikimedia Indonesia are pleased to announce today (5/9) the three winners of the "EUforia Uni Eropa", a Wikipedia Bahasa Indonesia Writing Competition.
The competition, launched in May as part of activities to celebrate Europe Day, was organised to increase the amount of EU content available in Bahasa Indonesia, with the aim of helping Indonesians to better understand the EU.
The three winners of the EUforia competition, each of whom made remarkable contributions to increasing EU-related content, are:
On the occasion, the EU Ambassador to Indonesia Vincent Guérend, said: "Our partnership with Wikimedia will allow us to reach out to more Indonesians and enable them to understand the EU better. I congratulate the winners for taking up the challenge of making the EU better understood."
The winners were chosen by a panel of jury comprising the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Open University Dr Daryono, a senior Wikipedia editor Mr Ignatius Yordan and the EU Delegation's Head of Political, Press and Information Mr Rafael De Bustamante Tello.
