UI students and EU Ambassador discuss EU-Indonesia relations in a globalised world
The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Indonesia Vincent Guérend held a discussion with students from Universitas Indonesia (UI) today at Mandiri Museum Jakarta, to reflect together the future of EU-Indonesia relations. During the interactive discussion, the students raised many relevant questions about how to both sides could further strengthen relations and tackle together the many challenges to our societies.
After the lively debate the EU Ambassador guided the students through the special EU Photo Exhibitions "Our Ocean" and "Islamic Art in the Collections of the European Museums". The exhibitions illustrate two of the many areas in which Indonesia and the EU constructively engage.
Ambassador Guérend highlighted: "In 2018, the EU and Indonesia will continue to deepen their political partnership and cooperate on both national and global challenges. This year, the EU aims to further enhance its relationship with Indonesia, going beyond trade and investment and strengthening cooperation in the areas of environment, education, science and technology, immigration and counter terrorism".
The special EU Photo Exhibitions at the Mandiri Museum – themed "Our Ocean" and "Islamic Art in the Collections of the European Museums" – are still open to the public until 9 June 2018.
