Have you ever wondered how police and customs identify suspicious items?
Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) items can be diverted to serve purposes different from the ones stated in a customs declaration, for example. And this can be dangerous. Officers need to be trained to detect these cases.
A four-day workshop on Strategic Trade Control Enforcement for Brunei officials was held in Bandar Seri Begawan from 7 to 10 May 2018 in the framework of the EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative.
The workshop was a good opportunity for EU and Brunei to share experiences.
