The European Union Delegation launched the video competition among the different partners implementing projects and programmes fully or partially funded by the EU.
They were to produce a three-minute short video presenting a success story of EU cooperation in Ghana, focusing on the actual results of the projects in question and with particular emphasis on the change the project produced/will produce in the lives of beneficiaries directly or indirectly. There were two categories, self-produced videos and professionally produced videos.
In all, 13 videos were presented for the competition for both categories, which were selected by an on-line audience from the Delegation's social media platforms, by public voting in the Cinema and by a four member panel. For the self-produced videos, Action Aid, was adjudged the best with the video titled "Paul's story: Changing lives with mushroom", followed by The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), with the video "The Dependable Partner". The third position went to World Vision with the Video "Reversing Land Degradation in Africa by Scaling-up Evergreen Agriculture".
The professionally produced videos saw the German International Agency (GIZ), winning the first prize with their video on Market Oriented Agriculture Programme (MOAP), followed by Accountability, Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme (ARAP) with their video, "ARAP Changing lives", with Christian Aid winning the third prize with their video "Changing Lives through Growing Economic Opportunities for Sustainable Development (GEOSP)".
