“Europe Day” (9 May) is a celebration of peace and unity in Europe. Every year in May, the European Union (EU) institutions in Europe as well as its offices all over the world organise a variety of activities for all ages to mark the day and raise awareness about the EU.

3 to 12 May 2018 | Jakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, Medan, Surabaya, Yogyakarta

This annual film festival will showcase 93 European films from 24 European countries. It will show a full repertoire from classics to the latest award-winning films, as well as the best in short animations and documentaries. The festival is jointly organised by the European diplomatic and cultural representations in Indonesia.

7 May to 6 June 2018 | Nationwide

For the first time, the EU Delegation to Indonesia will launch a Wikipedia writing article competition in association with Wikimedia Indonesia. Participants will be asked to write three articles about the EU (its institutions, policies and history) in Bahasa Indonesia, which will contribute to a better understanding of the EU. The 20 best contributors will be awarded prizes.

9 May to 9 June 2018 | Bank Mandiri Museum, Jakarta

On the occasion of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, the EU Delegation, in cooperation with embassies and cultural centres of EU Member States, will present a photo exhibition titled ''Islamic Art in the collections of the European Museums''. The exhibit will show the different Islamic art pieces that are available in museums from 17 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.

The exhibition is inspired and organised with the support of the EU Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia in Riyadh.

This photo exhibition is conceived as a bridge between the Our Ocean conference hosted by the EU in Malta last year and this year's edition, to be held in Bali in October. Through striking photos, it recalls the importance of preserving oceans, while presenting some of the EU's efforts to achieve this goal.

The EU Delegation to Indonesia, in cooperation with the EU Member States, will launch its annual report on EU-Indonesia development cooperation (so-called “Blue Book”). During the event, representatives of the Indonesian government, parliament, civil society, international community, students and the media will join a discussion on: Climate Change.
