Ambassadors from the European Union (EU) are conducting a two-day visit to Semarang starting today (24/1) to foster exchanges with the local government, business community, academia and civil society organisations in Central Java.
Led by the EU Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Mr Vincent Guérend, the delegation is composed of diplomats from 12 EU Member States, including the Ambassadors of Austria (HE Ms Helene Steinhäusl), Belgium (HE Mr Patrick Herman), Croatia (HE Mr Drazen Margeta), Denmark (HE Mr Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen), Germany (HE Mr Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg), Greece (HE Mr Georgios Dogoritis), Ireland (HE Mr Kyle O’Sullivan) and Italy (HE Mr Vittorio Sandalli).
"We work together with Indonesia on issues of mutual interest such as education, environmental protection, trade and investment, as well as good governance. It is therefore very beneficial to exchange views on these and other issues with the Governor of Central Java, the Mayor of Semarang and the people of Semarang," said EU Ambassador Vincent Guérend.
