On 15 June 2021, the first Work Programmes 2021-2022 of Horizon Europe (HE) have been adopted, with many calls for proposals already open from 22 June 2021.

Horizon Europe (successor of Horizon 2020) is the biggest EU research and innovation programme – ever - with a budget of nearly €95.5 billion over 7 years (2021 to 2027) and funds collaborative projects, researchers mobility, excellent science and innovation.

As a global actor and driver, the EU remains committed to openness, to cooperate with the best scientists and innovators in the world. Institutions from India can thus participate in most calls but would be required to arrange for funding.

Please check out the Funding and Tenders Portal for calls of mutual interest or targeting India or the Region and join forces to tackle global challenges and accelerate the green and digital 'twin transition' through multilateral initiatives on climate change and renewable energy, circular economy, biodiversity loss, green transport, earth observation, or global health and much more.

Horizon Europe continues to support individual researchers through European Research Council (ERC) grants and Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships (MSCAs)
