European Green Deal Call -DBT Co-Funding opportunities

The European Green Deal call under the current research and innovation programme Horizon-2020 is open for applications and the last date for submission is 26 January 2021 (17:00:00 Brussels time). This call with an approximately €1 billion budget for research and innovation projects that respond to the climate crisis and help protect Europe's unique ecosystems and biodiversity. Projects are expected to deliver tangible and visible results relatively quickly and show how research and innovation can provide concrete solutions for the Green Deal main priorities. This is why the call will support:

 

  • Pilot applications, demonstration projects and innovative products
  • Innovation for better governance of the green and digital transition
  • Social and value chain innovation

The European Union and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, have agreed to join forces on five calls under the Horizon 2020 European  Green Deal Work Programme. The DBT will co-fund the successful Indian entities in five calls under the Horizon 2020 Green Deal work programme.

Proposals are invited against the following the topics presented below:

  • LC-GD-2-1-2020 Innovative land-based and offshore renewable energy technologies and their integration into the energy system (RIA & IA - 68 M €)
  • LC-GD-3-1-2020 Closing the industrial carbon cycle to combat climate change - Industrial feasibility of catalytic routes for sustainable alternatives to fossil resources (IA - 80 M €) 
  • LC-GD-6-1-2020 Testing and demonstrating systemic innovations in support of the Farm-to-Fork Strategy (IA - 74 M €)
  • LC-GD-7-1-2020 Restoring biodiversity and ecosystem services (IA - 80 M €)
  • LC-GD-8-1-2020 Innovative, systemic zero-pollution solutions to protect health, environment and natural resources from persistent and mobile chemicals (RIA - 40 M €)
