Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa met with Kristrún Frostadóttir in Brussels

Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, and Antonio Costa, the President of the European Council, met with Kristrún Frostadóttir, Iceland's Prime Minister, in Brussels today.
"I had an excellent meeting with Kristrún Frostadóttir.
Iceland is an integral part of the European family - and the challenges we face, we face together.
We discussed Iceland's role in our efforts to strengthen the security and defence of our continent, as well as the evolving geostrategic landscape in the Arctic.
We also addressed the impact of US tariffs on the global economy.
As a member of our Single Market, Iceland's close integration will be fully taken into account in our collective response."

Iecland is working closely with the European Union in defending democracy and the rules-based international order. We also discussed how to deepen our cooperation, including security in the Arctic region.
