Accommodation for long-term Lease/Purchase (Ambassador's Residence)
- Type of Premises, Building Condition, and Size
We welcome various types of premises, including spacious apartments, semi-detached, or detached houses. The selected building must be well maintained, requiring no additional improvement or repair work.
- Image and Representation
The chosen building’s image and location should reflect the official standing of the occupant as the EU representative in Iceland, without being overly ostentatious.
- Location
Preferably situated within the 101, 102, 105, and 107 areas of Reykjavík or 170 (Seltjarnarnes) the building should be easily accessible by both private vehicle and public transport.
- Functionality
The space should preferably allow for a separation between official and private parts of the residence.
Reception Area:

- Adequate space for official receptions accommodating a minimum of 50 guests
- A dining room capable of seating at least 16 people, located near the kitchen.
- A kitchen area suitable to serve the residence’s size and function
- Toilet facilities located near reception area.
Optional features:
-
- A cloakroom near the entrance, if feasible.
- Provision for a guest bedroom.
Private Area:

- Minimum requirements: Master bedroom + minimum 2 other bedrooms guest room (if not already included in the reception area), one or more bathrooms, min. 2x WC, a sitting area.
Optional features:

- A designated office space (alternatively located in the reception area).
- A small kitchen
- Laundry area
- Cellars and storage areas
Other:

- Private parking + available street parking nearby.
- Size
The total surface area of all rooms should be at least 300 m² and not exceed 600 m².
Proposals must be submitted:
A – either by post, no later than 02 April 2024 at 12.00 hrs local time Reykjavik to the address indicated in the contact details;
B – or delivered by hand, no later the 12.00 hrs on 02 April 2024 local time Reykjavik to the address indicated in the contact details;
C – or by email, no later than 12.00 hrs on 02 April 2024 local time Reykjavik to the address in the contact details.
