Pasantía en la sección de Prensa e Información-Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Honduras
Are you a young graduate interested in institutional communication and international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Honduras?
We offer:
A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political Section of the EU Delegation to Honduras, starting indicatively in June 2024.
The Delegation of the European Union in Honduras plays an important role in the representation of the countries that make up the European Union and in the transmission of the values promoted by the European Union at international and Honduran level. In this context, it seeks to support the work carried out by the Political Section of the Delegation, especially in organisational, press, communication and/or administrative areas.
Main tasks:
- Be part of the team of the Political, Press and Information Section of the Delegation to the European Union, supporting the daily work of the Head of Delegation.
- Supporting the organisation of the various meetings and events, participating in the preparation of the agenda, including the identification of issues for discussion, list of participants, invitations, distribution of information, preparation of minutes and subsequent follow-up, depending on developments in the country.
- Supporting the preparation of the Honduran presidencies of CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) & SICA (Central American Integration System).
- Supporting in the preparation of follow-up reports on the different issues of interest to the European Union, collaborating in the task of compiling information, press reviews, and analysing the political situation.
- Collaborate in activities related to the communication and visibility of the Delegation, including the organisation of events, contact with suppliers, maintenance of social networks and the website of the EU Delegation in Honduras, maintenance of contact lists and the inventory of the Delegation's library.
- Any other tasks related to the activities of the Delegation as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only applicants currently residing in
Tegucigalpa will be considered.
- To have at least one university diploma in international relations, institutional communication, journalism, political sciences or similar.
- Perfect Spanish skills (native speaker or C2). Good knowledge of English.
- Good drafting skills.
- Interest in international relations and the work made by the European Union worldwide.

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states:
- must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
- must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
