The European Union Delegation to Honduras along with the Spanish Aid Cooperation facilitated a gathering between Carla Antonelli, first transgender Congress member in Spain, and governmental authorities for an exchange of experiences concerning LGTBIQ+ rights.

Carla Antonelli explained the Spanish experience on this topic.

Recognize gender identity as perceived by the persons and allow name change for transgender persons is one of the recommendations presented in the Final Report by the Electoral Observation Mission on the 2021 General Elections.

Carla Antonelli, politician and LGTBIQ+ activist, also shared her experiences with young people, students, teachers and academic members of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, during a symposium where LGTBIQ+ Honduran activists expressed the challenges faced in daily life.
