Honduran Talent Shines at Euro CineLab Closing Event

The European Union Delegation to Honduras celebrated the creativity of young Honduran filmmakers at the closing of Euro CineLab, a regional film initiative supported by the EU to promote emerging talent in Central America. The event highlighted the work of five talented participants from Honduras — Isis Rivera, Estefany Arias, Bárbara Escalante, Sofía Fernández, and Miguel Galindo — who developed their own short films after receiving over 40 hours of training from European cinema experts.
The short films were screened in Tegucigalpa, with Bárbara Escalante’s “Sometimes I Wish I Could Tear Off My Skin” awarded first place. The initiative reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to promoting youth, culture, and creative industries in Honduras, while strengthening cultural ties between Europe and Central America.
This initiative was possible thanks to the European Film Festival support and funding.
