Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Honduras?

What we offer?

A traineeship of up to 6 months directly attached to the Head of the EU Delegation to Honduras, starting no later than 30 November 2019.

Main tasks:

  • Carry out an analysis of Foreign Investment in Honduras from Companies originating in the EU;
  • Carry out in-depth sectoral studies of the three most important economic sectors for EU Investments;
  • Identify opportunities for deepen and widen economic relations between the EU and Honduras;
  • Analyse ongoing programmes of cooperation in the economic area, in particular those aiming to facilitate the implementation of the EU-Central America Association Agreement;
  • Prepare a program of Economic Diplomacy to be implemented in 2020/2021.


  • Candidate must be graduated from a university or equivalent higher education establishment with at least a Bachelor's level (Master’s degree in Economics will be an asset)
  • Fluent in Spanish and English

Special requirements

Due to the current circumstances in Honduras, familiarity with the country context, a host family in Tegucigalpa, is a prerequisite for any applicant from abroad. The host family contact data (name, telephone and email address) have to be specified in the application”.

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
