EU Ambassadors in joint visit to Meru County

European Union Heads of Mission are on a four- day working visit to Meru County

The European Union Ambassador to Kenya, H.E Simon Mordue, together with Ambassadors H.E Nicolas Nihon (Belgium), H.E Martin Klepetko (Czech Republic); H.E. Mette Knudsen (Denmark), H.E Erik Lundberg (Finland), H.E Jacek Bazanski (Poland), H.E. Frantisek Dlhopolcek (Slovak Republic), H.E Garcia de Viedma (Spain), Ms Kim Ramoneda (Deputy Head of Mission, France), Ms Katrin Hagemann (Deputy Head of Mission, EU) and Mr Guy Harrison (Head of Political and Press, EU) are currently on a working visit to Meru County, at the invitation of Meru Governor H. E. Kiraitu Murungi.

Today, the envoys will listen to a presentation on Meru County and Meru Vision 2040 and then visit the Meru County Gender Department and the Meru Twaweza Women Empowerment Programme, co-funded by Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden.

The envoys will later in the day visit the Meru Cancer Centre at the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital, the Njogune Boarding Primary School, the Kionyo Tea Factory, the Kaguru Agricultural Training Centre at Nkubu and  two agri-entrepreneurs funded under the EU's AGRIFI project.
