The state and prospects of further development of relations in the Uzbekistan-European Union format were discussed. The parties highly appreciated the results of the visit of President of the European Council Donald Tusk to Uzbekistan and his negoriation with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 31, 2019 in Tashkent.

It was emphasized that in recent years, Uzbek-European relations have reached a qualitatively new level and are filled with concrete practical content in all areas of cooperation. In this context, the parties welcomed the launch of the negotiation mechanism on the draft Agreement on Extended Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, the signing of which should be a landmark event in bilateral relations.
