The Government of Ghana, the European Union and Member States in Ghana met in Accra on 6th December 2018 for the 2018 Edition of the Political Dialogue.

EU-Ghana Political Dialogue 2018

Ghana and the European Union are partners and share common values, principles and interests. The Political Dialogue is a central part of the Cotonou Partnership Agreement which foresees, in Article 8, that "The parties shall regularly engage in a comprehensive, balanced and deep political dialogue leading to commitments on both sides"

The Vice President of Ghana, H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and H. E. Ambassador Diana Acconcia, Head of the European Union Delegation to Ghana, jointly chaired the meeting on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the European Union (EU) respectively.

Issues discussed included investment, business environment and trade, migration and human rights, multilateral affairs and regional integration, common actions for regional security, and common action on sustainable development
