Virtual study visit to the College of Europe for young researchers

The EU Delegation to Russia in partnership with the College of Europe held an online training for eleven young researchers, winners of the European Dialogue expert group and the Association of European Studies essay contests.

Markus Ederer, the EU Ambassador to Russia, had a discussion with the young scientists about the role of the higher education in global processes. Ambassador Ederer also talked about Erasmus+ programme and opportunities for the Russians students, researchers and higher education establishments.

During the communication training provided by Angela O'Neill, Director of Communications at the College of Europe, she explained how to improve the speaking skills and prepare for public speaking, what skills should be used by good communicators, and underlined the importance of the intercultural component.

The programme ended with a meeting with Professor Domenico Valenza from the University of Ghent. He analyzed cultural relations between the EU and Russia, discussed with the participants the current challenges for EU-Russia relations in times of geopolitics and the crisis caused by COVID-19.
