7 April 2020 is World Health Day. To recognise the vital role played by medical staff in the battle against COVID-19, the EU Delegation to Georgia propose to celebrate with the “minute to say THANK YOU!”.

“World Health Day gives us another opportunity to collectively express our deep gratitude and admiration to all the health workers that are working tirelessly on the front lines in the fight against the Corona virus, including in clinics, hospitals, the National Center for Decease Control (NCDC) and laboratories.  Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to guide us through this crisis,”- says Carl Hartzell, EU Ambassador to Georgia.

Additional information
The objective of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization (WHO).  In 1948, the WHO held the First World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950, as the World Health Day.
