Human Rights for all in Georgia
2014-2020
EU contribution EUR 10 million
Georgia’s Human Rights Strategy is based on the concepts of accessibility and realization of the human rights of all Georgian citizens in their daily lives. Moreover, it outlines the long-term goals and objectives of Georgian government in the area of human rights, with a view to developing a consistent and uniform policy across various sectors and between agencies, in order to achieve the precept of good governance.
The overall objective of this programme is to strengthen human-rights protection in areas prioritised by EU-Georgia agreements, including the rights of minorities and vulnerable groups, internal and external oversight of law enforcement, protection of privacy, labour rights, freedom of expression and information. The specific objectives are to enhance assistance and protection of various minorities and vulnerable groups, including victims of domestic violence and children in poverty; and to support the implementation and monitoring of the National Human Rights Strategy and Action Plan in selected areas prioritised by the EU-Georgia agreements.
