EU-funded Job Fair in Tbilisi brings together people with disabilities with potential employers

An EU-funded Job Fair took place in Tbilisi Mall with over 100 jobseekers meeting 28 potential employers from the private sector. It followed earlier job fairs in the regions and has established itself as a successful networking platform for job seekers with disabilities and businesses.

At the job fair, big and medium size companies in Tbilisi proposed vacancies or internship programs for people with disabilities who are looking for employment. More than 100 people at the fair had the chance to take job interviews with potential employers.

28 organizations participated in the Job Fair. Among them were the Retail Group Georgia, Adjara Group (Holiday inn, Rooms Hotels, Fabrika), Smart Retail, Wendy’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Palitra Group, VTB Bank Georgia, Tegeta Motors, Tbilisi and Courtyard Marriott.


This job fair was organized in the framework of Educate, Employ, Advocate and Legislate for Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities project, which is funded by the European Union. The project is implemented by Education Development and Employment Center, Telavi Education Development Employment Center and International Campaign to Ban Land Mine Georgian Committee “Otava 98”.


The project runs from October 1, 2015 with a total budget of 377,981 EUR  (982,750 GEL eq.) The aim of the project is to contribute to sustainable inclusive socio-economic development through improved transition from training to employment. Up to date, 106 people have been registered in a database as job seekers, 195 have received career training and 127 have already found jobs.
