“People in Need” (PIN) announces a second round of an open grant competition to support social and economic initiatives in Kazbegi Municipality. The competition runs within the framework of the EU Funded Pilot Rural Development project under ENPARD.
The purpose of the grants is to fund projects which improve the standard of living and socio-economic situation in Kazbegi.
The grant competition covers the Kazbegi municipality administration entities and applications will be evaluated in line with the relevance of the Kazbegi 2016-2020 Development strategy and its priorities.
Priority will be given to applications focused business, public and non-profit initiatives that consider the intersectional cooperation perspectives among tourism, agricultural, public and private sectors. The evaluation period of the grant entries is from 16 January 16 through 9 February 2017.
The winning applicants will be notified on 10 February 2017.

The EU is supporting rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 102 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. The first phase of ENPARD in Georgia focused on developing the potential of agriculture. The second phase focuses on creating economic opportunities for rural population that go beyond agricultural activities.
