The conference echoes the cooperation memoranda between the Government of Georgia and Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum signed back in 2015 that oversees the arrangement of an annual high-level discussion forum.
The conference aims at promoting the involvement of civil society in the implementation of Georgia’s Association Agreement with the European Union, focusing on the policy documents prepared by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgian National Platform.
The Conference was opened by the acting Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili. Janos Herman, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, and Niels Scott, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Georgia, David Bakradze, acting State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Lasha Tughushi, National Coordinator of the EaP CSF Georgian National Platform and Kakha Gogolashvili, Chairman of Georgian National Platform addressed the participants of the forum.
The Conference brought together representatives of Government, civil society, diplomatic missions and international organizations.
The Conference is organized by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgian National Platform and Office of State Minister on the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia with assistance from the European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden.
Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgian National Platform is the largest coalition in Georgia which unites 152 local and international nongovernmental organisations.
