Webinars : Europe Day and 70 years of the Schuman Declaration reaffirm the values of unity and solidarity in the context of Covid-19

In the framework of the 9th of May celebrations, the European Union Delegation in Chile is organizing during the month of May a series of three webinars to exchange on key topics and common challenges in the context of COVID-19: international cooperation, solidarity and disinformation.

The series will open on Thursday 14 May at 10:00 with the first webinar, entitled “The global response to COVID-19: international cooperation in the face of a new reality”, organised together with the Chilean Diplomatic Academy. The event will be hosted by the EU Ambassador in Chile, Stella Zervoudaki, and the Director of the Chilean Diplomatic Academy, Ambassador Miguel Ángel González. Ambassador Raúl Fernández, acting Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, and Silvia Rucks, Resident Coordinator of the UN System in Chile, will be the special guest speakers.

The second webinar will take place on Wednesday 20 May at 12:00. This will be a joint activity organised by the European Union and the European Studies Programme of the University of Concepción, entitled “Solidarity: The comprehensive strategy of the European Union against the COVID-19 pandemic”. The event will be hosted by the EU Ambassador in Chile, Stella Zervoudaki, and the speakers will be Enrique Feás, Senior Researcher at Elcano Institute and columnist, as well as Paulina Astroza, Director of the European Studies Programme at the University of Concepción.

The last webinar will take place on Wednesday 27 May at 12:00, focused on “Disinformation in the time of COVID-19”. The presentations will be held by prominent European and Chilean experts in this field.
