The EU is the biggest development cooperation partner in The Gambia. The majority of funds are streamlined through the European Development Fund (EDF) with the current programme cycle running from 2016-2020.

The key sectors under the National Indicative Programme (NIP) are:

• Exit Strategy to the Transport Sector and Feeder Roads
• Governance/Rule of law/Security
• Inclusive Sustainable Growth and Job Creation
• Renewable Energy, Climate Change and Infrastructure
