In January the kick-off meeting took place on the construction of the Skopje-Blace motorway, which is expected to considerably shorten the travelling time between Skopje and Pristina.
The EU finances with 1.3 million euros the preparation of the environment and social impact assessment and the tender documentation for the project.
The project comprises field surveys (topographic, hydrological, geological and geotechnical) and preparation of technical documentation needed for construction permit.
The Skopje-Blace motorway will connect Route 6a from the South East Europe Transport Observatory (SEETO) with Pan-European Corridors VIII and X. It will further improve the backbone network of the country and the overall transport connectivity in the region.
