Croquis in the Garden is an interdisciplinary art project that combines literature and visual art, intending to show how literature can inspire other forms of art.

The project is comprised of two parts: an event in the Acanthus Gallery garden in which short stories, extracts from novels and poems will be read in front of an audience of painters, sketchers and illustrators, who, in turn, drawing inspiration from the literature will create fast sketches (croquis).

These sketches will be later on used to create artworks which will be exhibited at the Acanthus Gallery, presenting the second part of the project. The literature reading and drawing event in combination with the exhibition, apart from showing how inspiration can be drawn from literature, will present an opportunity to learn more about the croquis as a starting line for other works of art, as well as, as an art form in itself.
