On Thursday, 16 March 2017, Ambassador Samuel Žbogar, Head of the Delegation of the European Union, will visit the city of Valandovo, as part of the "EU for YOU" campaign, where he will meet the Mayor of Valandovo Mr. Nikolche Churlinovski and visit the EU funded project "The Quality of life prerequisite for progress and sustainable development in the cross-border area- PROLIFE". The Ambassador will also visit the Social Work Centre of Valandovo, which has been renovated with funds from the European Union.

The project is funded under the Cross-border Cooperation programme of the European Union. Its total value is 800.000 euro.

The campaign "EU for YOU" has the objective to raise awareness and inform the public about the EU assistance in the country.

As the first theme is environment, the campaign travels to places across the country where the EU gives assistance for fighting pollution and providing 'Clean Environment for All' (the motto for this theme).

The overall EU assistance to the country in the field of environment amounts to more than 80 million euros under IPA I (2007-2013) whereas further support of 100 million euros is planned under the next IPA II financial allocation.
