The Republic of Vanuatu and the European Union (EU) met for their fifth Enhanced Political Dialogue on 15 April 2019 in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

The Council today adopted a set of conclusions concerning the implementation by the EU of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, which was established in 2015 and comprises a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the horizontal nature of the 2030 Agenda, its implementation requires a cross-policy approach by the EU and its member states. Earlier this year, the Commission published a reflection paper "Towards an ever more sustainable Union by 2030," to which the conclusions are a response.

The fundamental human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation apply to every human being and are fully recognised and backed by the EU in its diplomatic efforts and development policy.

The Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific has launched its new Call for Proposals for CSO in Fiji (ref. EuropeAid/162808/DD/ACT/FJ).

The indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 4.4 Million. The Call for Proposals is composed of two different lots.

Australia and the European Union have confirmed support for the Pacific region’s economic development aspirations and its priorities for sustainable infrastructure and development.

Equality is a core value of the European Union, and a principle we will keep fighting for. Equality between women and men is no exception.

«Равенство — одна из ключевых ценностей Европейского Союза и один из принципов, который мы всегда будем отстаивать. Равенство между женщинами и мужчинами не является исключением.

Европа — одно из самых безопасных и равноправных мест в мире для девочек и женщин. Число работающих женщин достигло беспрецедентно высокого уровня в ЕС. Сегодня все больше и больше женщин занимают руководящие должности. И мы можем этим гордиться.
