The TRC is an independent body set up by the Parliament of Fiji. The Commission will facilitate open and free engagement in truth-telling regarding the political upheavals during the coup periods since 1987 and to promote closure and healing for the survivors of these events.

This cooperation between the EU and Fiji reflects our shared objectives in pursuit of human rights, democracy, peace and security, being at the core of EU’s foreign and security policy. The EU is a long-term reliable partner for the stability and resilience of the Pacific region.
