Building Community Resilience to Climate Change through Civil Society Action (CRCC)
The CRCC project seeks to strengthen the capacities of local civil society and vulnerable communities in addressing and adapting to the adverse effects of climate change. It does so by working simultaneously on various areas impacted by climate change: water and sanitation, climate smart agriculture, peacebuilding and resolution of climate-induced conflicts, supporting women through natural disasters. Moreover, women and youth are given the opportunity to upskill themselves in activities that promote circular economy and minimise waste.
This project contributes to building local resilience to climate change and links broad national policies and frameworks with transformation on the ground. It places local communities at the centre of its work and acknowledges that they need to be part of and to take ownership of the interventions needed in order to sustainably address the impacts of climate change.
