EU Ambassador meets KCCI Chairman

15/05/2017 - 10:53
Summits

Ambassador Reiterer met Mr PARK Yongmaan, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  Ambassador Reiterer emphasised the success of the EU-Korea FTA for both parties and insisted that EU remains a reliable trading partner, opposed to any form of protectionism.  Chairman Park and Ambassador Reiterer discussed about the importance for SMEs to benefit fully from open international trade and agreed that small companies should be supported in their efforts to internationalise their business. Programmes such as Gateway to Korea are already contributing  to help SMEs to fully benefit from the EU-Korea FTA but more could be done to increase awareness on the opportunities existing both in Korea and in the EU and the EU Delegation to Korea and KCCI will spare no efforts to work in this direction.
