EU in Eswatini marks Europe Day 2025 with local singers, cooperation partners and authorities

The event brought together development partners, civil society organisations, churches, business, Members of Parliament and government authorities as well as the diplomatic community.
The Ambassador of France, based in Maputo, also attended, with the audience appreciating the presentation of copies of the first translation into Siswati language of the “Petit Prince” of Saint-Exupery, by Alliance Francaise.
A group of young local singers with diverse backgrounds performed songs in different EU languages, but impressed the audience also with acapella performance of the national anthems.
This colourful event was widely covered in the media, including the participation by three cabinet ministers as well as a brother of the King representing His Majesty King Mswati III. The media also picked up extensively on the speech of the EU Ambassador, who was also invited for a TV and Radio interview the day before.
