To improve the livelihoods (increase income and access to social services: MDGs) of rural towns and villages while informing the decision making for replication within the National Energy Policy Reform in view of mitigation of the adverse effects of climate changes in Eritrea.
The project is expected to contribute to improving households' food security and the livelihoods of several hundreds of thousands of Eritrean and increase the production of high-value crops by up to 10%.
European Union support in the energy sector will help in the development of Eritrea to bring electricity to Eritrean households, schools, dispensaries and SMEs in remote areas not reached by the national grid. It will help to fight global climate change effects.
