The aim of the workshop is to familiarise participants with the general conditions of the Generalised System of Preferences + (GSP+) and to ensure that exporters from the Kyrgyz Republic have all the procedures and documents in line with the GSP+ conditions.
The workshop will also facilitate the exchange of information between national, international experts and government agencies with the objectives of enhancing cooperation in the field of agri-food exports and supporting the export-oriented producers in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The mission and the workshop are organized and funded by the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission in co-operation with the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan and State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Inspection under government. The team of experts includes two specialists from Latvia, one from Estonia and one from the Czech Republic.
To remind, Kyrgyzstan received GSP+ status at the beginning of 2016. It allows Kyrgyzstan to export 6200 trade items to the EU consumer market of 500 million people without customs tariffs. Since then Kyrgyzstan has been annually increasing exports of goods to the EU. Mainly, Kyrgyz exports to the EU consists of base metals, vegetables, fruits, nuts, apparel and clothing.
