"My neighbor's strength is my strength. We believe this in the European Union (EU) and we apply it in our external relations. Egypt is our most important neighbor in the Southern Neighborhood and we have strategic relations that have developed considerably over the years," said Ivan Surkoš, Ambassador of the EU to Egypt during the celebration of Europe Day.

The Council today adopted a set of conclusions concerning the implementation by the EU of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, which was established in 2015 and comprises a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the horizontal nature of the 2030 Agenda, its implementation requires a cross-policy approach by the EU and its member states. Earlier this year, the Commission published a reflection paper "Towards an ever more sustainable Union by 2030," to which the conclusions are a response.

On the occasion on World Water Day, the European Union (EU) Ambassador in Egypt Ivan Surkoš and Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Ati celebrated the occasion across the Nile River Banks with a number of European and African Ambassadors, representatives of donor agencies, top governmental officials and selection of media professionals in Afla Garden in El Kanater El Khairia.
