On 22 May, EU Ambassador to Egypt Angelina Eichhorst visited the iconic Maspero building, home to Egyptian Radio and Television, for a special appearance on Radio Cairo. 

Ambassador Eichhorst was invited as a guest on Dr. Amr Mabrouk’s well-known programme, where she shared personal reflections and insights on the EU’s partnership with Egypt, European history, and the values that unite the peoples of Europe and Egypt.

Parallel to the radio recording, the Ambassador held a courtesy meeting with Mr. Mohamed Nawar, President of Egyptian Radio. The meeting highlighted the long-standing cooperation between European and Egyptian media institutions and underscored the importance of dialogue, cultural exchange, and public diplomacy.

Ambassador Eichhorst also toured the television studios inside the Maspero complex, where she was welcomed by senior officials and media professionals. 

The visit reflected the EU’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people connections and supporting independent, diverse, and vibrant media landscapes.
