On 14 July, Urtsadzor (Ararat marz) hosted the “Bed & Bread” Rural Tourism Festival to develop rural tourism and community economies, as well as create additional sources of income for rural population. The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, together with Garik Sargsyan, the Governor of Ararat marz, Ruben Khachatryan, the Director of FPWC, and Rafik Andreasyan, the Head of Urtsadzor community, attended the opening ceremony of the festival.
Ambassador Świtalski welcomed the guests and thanked Urtsadzor for hosting the festival: “The EU is happy to support projects like this as we want Armenian villages to be filled with new energy, to be places where people can come and enjoy the beauty of agricultural tourism. The EU is committed to working with you and continuing the projects like this. I want to use the opportunity to thank you for its successful implementation. We are very glad that the project is appreciated by the authorities – this is a great motivation for us to continue our work in Armenia. I hope that people will visit this beautiful corner of Armenia frequently and will help the Armenian marzes develop’.
