The European Union Delegation to Egypt celebrates the winners of its 9th Annual Photography Competition:
Job Creativity of Egyptians and Youth”

The European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt has held the 9th annual Photography Competition for amateur photographers awards ceremony under the theme of “Job Creativity of Egyptians and Youth”, announcing the winners and exhibiting the photos of the participants.
The first winner of this year's competition is: Mohammed Abdel Maqsoud from Giza for his photo: "La’abet Hamada Begeneh (Hamada’s 1 pound toy)". The second winner is Farid Mahmoud Abdel Gawad Abdeen, from Port Said for his photo: "The Happiness vendor". The third winner is Nada Mohammed Mahrous, from Cairo for her photo: "The Challenge". The top three winners were awarded valuable professional photography lenses to help them boost their photography skills. This year the jury was taken over by the photos so they decided to add two more honorary gifts for Hana Hamada Khalil on her photo "Hope" and Mohamed Ahmed Yousry on his photo "The Children band".
In his speech Mr. Reinhold Brender, Chargé d'Affaires of the EU Delegation highlighted the role this competition plays in promoting Egyptian youth and enhancing cultural cooperation between the EU and Egypt, and said: “You see, this year's theme Job Creativity of Egyptians and Youth was chosen by our social media followers through an online poll on the EU Delegation to Egypt official Facebook page. Mr. Brender added that many of the Egyptian youth have creatively found a niche to create job opportunities in a unique way.
In this year's competition more than 130 photos were submitted in the competition for over 40 contestants.. Twelve photos were chosen and are now featured in the EU Delegations' desk calendar while the first 30 photos are publicly exhibited in a public vernissage celebrating the winners and the participants, whom 30 who have received symbolic gifts and certificates of participation.
There were five jury members this year: Ms. Minoush Abdel-Meguid-- Managing Director and cofounder of Union Capital Partners, Mr. Karim Hayawan--an interior architect and photographer, Ms. Marwa Abou Leila-- Managing Partner Photopia, Ms. May Abdel Asim-- Founder & Managing Editor of "What Women Want" Magazine, and Mr. Ahmed Mostafa, professional photographer, who was a former amateur photographer and participant of the EU photo competition
