The European Union is the country's largest cooperation partner through various forms of assistance: bilateral cooperation, thematic cooperation, regional cooperation and blending.
Objective: To build resilience to extreme climatic events in the income generating activities and housing of low income rural and peri-urban communities in Ecuador and Peru.

Project activities will first focus on capacity building for technological innovation (such as crop management, seed systems, adaptation to climate change, post harvest and market access) in prioritized zones of the Andean sub region.
Ecuador and Colombia are countries characterized by a strong disparity and social and economic tensions between urban and rural areas, due to the high levels of poverty in the countryside, and the social, economic and cultural inequality and exclusion of a large part of the population of indigenous and Afro-descendants living in rural and less developed areas.
